Pastor's Message
A MESSAGE FROM THE PASTOR'S STUDY
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn
of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden
is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
Jesus invites all to come to him if you desire rest. Webster’s New World Dictionary defines rest as peace, ease, and relief from
anything distressing. If you receive Jesus as your Lord and personal Savior, rest will occur by faith.
Secondly, Jesus says, “Take my yoke upon you and learn of me.” What is a Yoke? A yoke is a device that joins two
animals and helps them to work together. The Bible states that different kinds of animals were not to be yoked together. In other
words, you cannot pair an ox with a mule or a Christian with a non-believer. It will not work.
As Christians, we can become yoked with Jesus. The yoke represents obedience. We need to continuously learn about Christ.
Start today, place your neck under the yoke, and let your spirit get edification.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to
him. James 1:5
