The Power of Prayer

Great is thy faithfulness! New mercies I see everyday! This is the day the Lord has made...we WILL rejoice and be glad in it.

Good morning OMZBC...saints of the most high God...I am extremely excited to be among the living today...as with everyday but today I am filled with an extra dose of praise on my lips! It's something about the power of prayer. I often tell my girlfriends that I don't feel like I'm an effective prayer but this morning my prayer felt a little different...I put forth a little more heart...I'm usually tired at 5 am as it seems I can't manage to get in bed before 11pm but just to wake up and be in my right mind to give THANKS one more time is a blessing.

Tomorrow may never come! Praise the Lord TODAY! We must be in constant prayer!!! We must know the importance of prayer!!

On Friday, December 2nd, Pastor Duane, First Lady Sheree and the OMZBC Family will be in fellowship with the #1 Gospel Recoring Artist in the country, ERNEST PUGH! Pastor and Ernest Pugh interviewed on Rejoice 1540 this morning...for those of you who tuned in let me here from you!

If you missed the "For Dreamers Only" Revival...my God., my God...you missed an AWESOME WORD both nights. Our theme scripture was Genesis 37:5...Read the scripture and join OMZBC as Pastor concludes Sunday at the 9am and 11 am worship experiences. No prayer, no power…Little Prayer, Little Power…MUCH PRAYER, MUCH POWER!

Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always pray and not ‘turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up). Luke 18:1 (Amplified Version)

Why at OMZ do we typically recant this mantra at benediction time?

Because prayer is one of the most powerful tools we as believers possess. It is one of the vehicles by which we commune with God. Through prayer we can express our thoughts, concerns, fears and feelings to God. We make petition before His throne of mercy and grace for ourselves and others. Prayer is simply being in undistracted conversation with God. It is a time when God can speak to us as well. Sometimes we don’t get the most out of our conversations with God because we are doing all the talking. So I encourage you, take a real hard look at your prayer life and make the necessary changes. Prayer is essential to a vital and deep relationship with God.

As I was listening to 102 Gospel Jamz as I do everyday throughout the day; I felt the urge to share these words. If you were at Bible Study Thursday night you should remember Pastor Fields saying, “You have to recognize that God is your SOURCE”!! God alone is your source and He cannot fail us. So as I was listening to this song it hit me that if I was the person I was months ago I would have been sitting at my desk in tears. Those phrases are familiar to most of us…we’ve all been there a time of two. But I rest assured that My God is a HEALER! He is a COMFORTER! He is THE LIGHT! He is FAITHFUL! And HE’S STILL ABLE!

Whatever you’re going through or whatever you’ve been through…turn to the MASTER…claim your VICTORY. YOU SHALL LIVE AND NOT DIE! He paid the price so we may have life and have it more abundantly!

Special Prayer Request

We are asking all intercessors to go into prayer right now for the return of 9 year-old Robbie Woods. Robbie is a Caroline County resident who went missing on this past Sunday while visiting a park in Hanover County with his family. Please, please take time to go before the throne of God to pray for Robbie's protection and return. As well please keep lifted up his family, friends, loved ones, law enforcement, search volunteers and the community. The prayers of the righteous still avail much!
