No prayer, no power…Little Prayer, Little Power…MUCH PRAYER, MUCH POWER! Also [Jesus] told them a parable to the effect that they ought always pray and not ‘turn coward (faint, lose heart, and give up). Luke 18:1 (Amplified Version) Why at OMZ do we typically recant this mantra at benediction time? Because prayer is one of the most powerful tools we as believers possess. It is one of the vehicles by which we commune with God. Through prayer we can express our thoughts, concerns, fears and feelings to God. We make petition before His throne of mercy and grace for ourselves and others. Prayer is simply being in undistracted conversation with God. It is a time when God can speak to us as well. Sometimes we don’t get the most out of our conversations with God because we are doing all the talking. So I encourage you, take a real hard look at your prayer life and make the necessary changes. Prayer is essential to a vital and deep relationship with God. |
